Dr Jen-Chih Chen, associate professor at the Institute of Biotechnology, National Taiwan University, will give a talk on “Plant responses to phytoplasma diseases” on Jul 10 (Fri) at 10:15 in Rm 144. He will also talk briefly about lutein production from microalgae.
Dr Chen obtained his PhD from UC Davis, USA, and has studied flower senescence using virus-induced gene silencing (VIGS) for several years. His current focus has switched toward plant stress responses and carotenoids engineering. He is visiting us under the Estonian-Taiwanes researcher exchange program.
