Fieldwork (pinhole) report – Svalbard

Text and pictures by Lauri Laanisto

During the summer I did a fair share of research-related travelling. Fieldwork took me to some rather exotic places. Here are some matchbox-pinhole (here´s a video how to make such camera) pictures of how I visited Czech Polar Ecology station in Svalbard in August. All pictures are taken around or in an abandoned Russian coal mining town Pyramiden, where the Czech station´s Petuniabukta “branch” is located.
