Leila defended her PhD thesis: congratulations!

Leila Pazouki defended her PhD thesis titled “Emission, gene regulation and function of terpenoids in tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) and yarrow (Achillea millefolium).in agriculture on the 17th of January. Her supervisor was Ülo Niinemets.

The opponent was Prof. Dr. Jörg-Peter Schnitzler from the German Research Center for Environmental Health, who did a great job. It was actually one of the longest PhD-defences in the history of Estonian University of Life Sciences.

The committee had some intriguing questions to be noted in future research


The discussion spanned from genes and biochemical reactions to model-plants, evolution and science itself
